From Frustration to Understanding

"We had recently moved into a new home when our 6-year-old Goldendoodle suddenly began urinating throughout the house after years of being completely house trained. At the same time, he became increasingly anxious whenever we left, whining and crying much more than he ever had before. We were frustrated and worried that this behavior had become his new normal.

Rather than focusing only on the accidents, West Virginia Animal Behavior helped us understand why the behavior was occurring. We learned that the move itself, unfamiliar scents left by previous pets, and his anxiety were all likely contributing factors. We were given a clear, practical plan that was easy to follow and focused on helping our dog feel more comfortable rather than simply correcting the behavior.

Within the first week, the indoor urination had completely stopped, and his anxiety-related vocalization had already improved significantly. More importantly, we felt like we finally understood what our dog was trying to communicate instead of just reacting to the behavior.

The experience was professional, compassionate, and educational. We would highly recommend West Virginia Animal Behavior to anyone looking for an evidence-based approach to understanding their dog's behavior."
