About

Mission

320,000 is the number of dogs euthanized per year in the United States, for dogs under 2 years of age behavior is the most common reason for euthanasia. Think about that, we kill dogs because of behavior, or more accurately, because we don't understand their behavior. But they are our best friends right?

I am pursuing a master's degree in Applied Animal Behavior to become the only board-certified applied animal behaviorist in the state of West Virginia for one simple reason: we don't have one. Many people, including myself will consider adopting a dog from the shelter but are dissuaded because they have food-aggression or exhibit behaviors. Most of the time, these behaviors are easily modified, but there exists no one in the state who is able to identify the function of the behavior and modify it.
